Alabama recently became the first state in the nation to employ a selfie verification system that officials hope will cut into tax refund fraud.
The Alabama Department of Revenue is encouraging taxpayers to download an iOS app that can be used as a fraud verification system that cuts down on paperwork for both parties and increases the agency’s confidence in taxpayer identity.
