Extra storage just got cheaper for older Macs

Just after Apple proudly debuted its newest MacBook Pros, the company quietly lowered the prices of high-capacity storage upgrades for older Mac products on its website. Reports show that anyone purchasing a MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and the old MacBook Pro will save up to $100 if they get the 512GB or 1TB options.

Getting extra storage used to add $300 to $400 (512GB) or even $700 to $900 (1TB) to the cost of the device, but for these older models, Apple appears to have shaved off some of the price. For example, upgrading the 256GB 13-inch MacBook Air to 512GB of SSD PCIe-based flash storage costs $200 now, instead of $300.
