FITARA progress lies in IT modernization, CIO autonomy, says Dell Federal’s Harris

Agencies have made definitive but notably modest progress on their Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, or FITARA, scorecards, and members of Congress are intent on seeing improvement in those grades going forward.

According to Dell Federal’s Steve Harris, the path to progress lies in passing the IT modernization fund to open funding gridlock, and giving agency CIOs sufficient budgetary autonomy.

In an interview with FierceGovernmentIT, Harris, who serves as vice president and general manager of Dell Federal, gave some insight about the roadblocks affecting agency scorecard progress.
