HTC is on track to release a consumer version of its Vive virtual reality headset by the end of the year, with device details coming in October.

The final design of the Vive and its wireless controllers, as well as what content will be available for the SteamVR-powered headset, will be shared then, HTC executive director of marketing Jeffrey Gattis said in a video.
