Teradata on Thursday acquired San Diego-based startup StackIQ in a bid to beef up internal capabilities for deploying its data warehousing systems across complex cloud and on-premises environments.
The pioneering data warehousing vendor sees StackIQ’s open source solutions, primarily the company’s flagship tool, Stacki, as assets that will simplify provisioning cloud and bare-metal servers to run its analytics platform.
StackIQ, founded in 2006 and bootstrapped until 2011, focuses on developing applications that automate managing complex infrastructure for data storage and advanced analytics.
